Flesh, Fur, Fungus, Feather, 2022

Exhibited at Dublin Art Book Fair, Temple Bar Gallery, November 2022.

12 page threadbound zine. Ink drawings on fabriano paper. Edition of 5.

This zine collaged 12 Irish folktales. The images were accompanied by a narrative that took you on a cyclical and dream-like tour, instructing you to engage with the drawings' subjects in increasingly absurd ways.

Text clockwise from top left reads:

Pluck devil's spit covered blackberries from the spikes of a hedgehog. Put them in your pocket for later. You can try bargaining your tail back with these.

A trio of eggs whisper as you pass by. You don't know what they are saying but it sounds Juicy and Mean. Maybe it's about your missing tail. Mind the thorns.

A cow is caught under a bush. You unscrew her horn to set her free and a set of woodworking instruments fall from the horn's hollow. She offers them to you in thanks.

A woman with a stick nose is knitting a dress. Without your tail you are cold and she is bored of knitting. She longs to whittle a loom from her wooden nose. You swap the tools, slip on the dress and follow me.
